Job title: Power BI Junior Developer

Location: Role can be based from either our Manchester or Leeds locations (Hybrid working available)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £30k + benefits

We are looking for a Junior Power BI developer who is passionate about analytics and wants to deliver real improvements to our clients in smart and effective ways. The successful candidate will have a desire to develop their skills and want to learn more about wider Azure analytics capabilities enabling them to build a long career here at BCN Group in a growing and exciting technology team.

Using your knowledge of Microsoft’s Power BI, you will assist more experienced Power BI developers or data analysts in creating reports and dashboards, handling data-related tasks, and supporting data visualization efforts for our clients. The role requires a wide knowledge of business intelligence, data integration, data warehousing, modelling, database, and technical aspects of BI tools. This is an exciting opportunity working as part of the Data & Productivity team to develop new capabilities and establish industry leading analytics practices.


Responsibilities:

  • Assisting senior developers and Team Leads in creating reports and dashboards where appropriate.
  • Work independently with tasks provided from Project leads
  • Handling data-related tasks such as data cleaning, data transformation, and data modelling.
  • Supporting data visualization efforts within a project for clients.
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure that data is accurate and up to date.
  • Troubleshooting issues with data and reports.

Job requirements

Person, Skills & Experience:

  • Confident to work individually on projects or as part of a wider project team
  • Established knowledge of Power BI report / dashboard development
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouses, ETL, Dataflows and other Azure applications
  • Strong business-to-technology translation skills for identifying ways to apply analytics to help customers improve performance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps Pipelines would be advantageous.
  • Requires a strong understanding of SQL, data modelling, and data visualization.
  • Should also be familiar with advanced Power Query and DAX.
